Supporting the community
As a truly global organisation, G4S has the potential to create a real impact for the communities in which we operate.
We therefore recognise our responsibility to our local communities and strive to be a good corporate citizen, forging community links at all levels of the business.
In particular, we encourage our colleagues around the world to invest time and energy in local community projects. Here are just a few examples of the initiatives we support around the world.
In June 2007, we launched G4S 4teen, an innovative sports development programme that provides support to 14 promising young athletes, who were selected from different G4S markets around the world, and across a variety of Olympic sports.Through G4S 4teen, these talented teenage sportsmen and women have been given opportunities they previously may not have had, in either their sporting or personal lives.

Mine action – international
One of the services we provide to our customers around the world is Mine Action, which supports sustainable humanitarian programmes on an international scale. Our teams have supported projects to remove landmines and unexploded ordnance in countries including Afghanistan, Cyprus, Mozambique, Nepal and Sudan, enabling communities to rebuild their lives and economies in safety.
In the Czech Republic, we help the Czech Radio Endowment Fund „Světluška“, which provides support for our blind citizens. We also cooperate with the APPN agency that helps to find jobs for deaf people.
